Alloys and Revert

ICD is an industry leading recycler of certified revert and scrap materials including Nickel and Cobalt. Compared with Pure Metals, the alloys produced from these materials typically have better strength, a smaller carbon footprint, and are more cost effective.

The revert industry is rapidly expanding, and bigger companies are not always structured to take advantage of typically smaller scrap dealers and traders. ICD specializes in bridging this gap between the small producers and large consumers of these certified secondary raw materials.

Our expertise in metallurgy allows us to offer not only the finest traditional alloys, but also alloys including materials not normally sought after to create cutting edge unique and cost effective blended solutions.

Pure Metals

Pure Metals, also known as native metals, are those which consist of a single element. ICD delivers the world’s highest purity metals such as Cobalt, Nickel and Molybdenum from mine to market by leveraging our unparalleled global network.

ICD provide these pure metals in many forms, including powders, ingots and bars. Our melt shops are NADCAP/UKAS approved and uniquely qualified to produce custom forms tailored to a wide array of customer specifications.

Pure Metals are valuable in the electronic and jewelry industries, and traded as commodities. Depending on desired characteristics, they are also often blended with other materials and alloys.

Cobalt

Cobalt

A lustrous, silvery-blue metal. Cobalt is magnetic, used in electroplating, and produces brilliant blue colours in paint, porcelain, glass, pottery and enamels.
Molybdenum

Molybdenum

A shiny, silvery metal. It is used in steel alloys to increase strength, hardness, electrical conductivity and resistance to corrosion and wear.
Nickel

Nickel

A matte, silvery metal. Nickel resists corrosion well and is used in plating, batteries, coins and is added to glass to give it a green colour.

Ferro Alloys

ICD is a leading supplier of many Ferroalloys such as Ferro Molybdenum, Tungsten & Titanium. Ferroalloys are composed of iron with large proportions of 1 or more other elements.

The leading consumers of Ferroalloys are the iron and steel industries. Ferroalloys are used to improve properties such as strength, ductility and fatigue resistance to steel and iron, and may also serve important functions during production.

Offering a wide array of Ferroalloy products in multiple forms, our team of experts can guide you to the ideal solution for your needs.

Ferro molybdenum

Ferro molybdenum

Adding ferromolybdenum to a material helps to improve weldability, corrosion and wear resistance as well to increase ferrite strength and is used in cast irons, high-speed tool steels, and superalloys.
Ferro Tungsten

Ferro Tungsten

Because of its high melting point ferrotungsten has many applications in aerospace, and with its unique electrical capabilities, is used in electron microscopes and IC chips.
Ferro Titanium

Ferro Titanium

Ferro-titanium is used in steel refining for deoxidation, denitrification and/or desulfurization, and its powder is used as a fuel in pyrotechnic compositions.

Rare Earth

ICD is at the forefront of Rare Earth metals supply. These soft silvery-white metals are known as rare because of their scarcity in pure form. However they are fairly abundant, with core products of ours such as Cerium found in the earth’s crust in amounts equally to copper.

Mined and processed within our network, our high tech customers have come to rely on us for their needs in critical areas. Within the medical industry there are many cutting edge uses including the manufacture of X-ray tubes and the latest cancer drugs. They are also integral for use in superconductors, smart phone screens and catalytic refinery within the gas industry.

New advances in recycling technology have made extraction of Rare Earth Metals from secondary materials more feasible. ICD is an industry leading supplier in both recycled and virgin Rare Earth Metals.

Cerium

Cerium

A grey metal. Cerium is used as a catalyst such as in catalytic converters, and also used in flat-screen TVs, low-energy light bulbs and floodlights.
Yttrium

Yttrium

A soft, silvery metal. Yttrium is used in alloys to increase strength, and also used in lasers, white LEDs and superconductors.
Lanthanum

Lanthanum

A soft, silvery-white metal. Compounds containing Lanthanum are used extensively in carbon lighting applications, and also used in catalysts for petroleum refining.

Intermediate and Oxide

Metal Oxide and Intermediate Technology is a growing business sector and ICD is at the forefront of it’s research and supply.

Metal Oxides have many uses and applications that cannot be achieved by their base metal counterparts. These Oxides can occur naturally or can be manufactured by various treatments to the base metal.

Intermediate Metals are used in alloy bonding as a layer to firmly join 2 or more stacked Metallic materials. These are used primarily in the process of metal seal bonding.

Let the specialists at ICD help determine which Oxide and Intermediate products are best for your application.
