    Regulatory Compliance Representative Manager

    REGULATORY COMPLIANCE REPRESENTATIVE

    UMC is an industry leader in the importing and distribution of specialty colorants, high-purity source materials for semiconductor fabrication, additives for clean water, and ingredients for cosmetic and food/beverage applications.

    UMC is committed to 100% compliance with domestic and global health, safety, environmental, and social responsibility standards.

    UMC is currently seeking a Regulatory Compliance Representative to assist the Department Manager in fulfilling the following responsibilities:

    • Handling regulatory compliance inquiries from customers and maintaining up-to-date documentation.
    • Regulatory reporting, submittals, and recordkeeping requirements.
    • Internal auditing, gap analysis, and self-assessments.
    • Brainstorming and project management in support of company initiatives and goals.

    Long-term role will include maintaining evergreen SDS/label database and ensure overall preparedness involving health, safety, and environmental regulations affecting UMC.

    Successful candidate must possess at minimum a BS in Engineering, Chemistry, or Environmental Science. 1 – 3 years professional experience preferred but not required.

    Manager, Colorants Business Unit

    Business Unit Description: UMC is the industry leader in special effects pigments. UMC offers customers a complete line of organic, daylight fluorescent, phosphorescent, thermochromic, photochromic, UV security and pearlescent pigments.

    Job Description:
    Candidate is based in the UMC corporate office in Lyndhurst, NJ and will have the responsibility of maintaining the existing business and driving further sales growth of the Colorants business unit. Our current customer base is mainly in the plastics, ink and paint/coating industries and is quite extensive. Our suppliers are based in various countries in both Asia and the EU. The colorants manager will have full responsibility for maintaining existing and growing supplier relationships while searching for any new opportunities.

    Responsibilities:
    Strategic business planning
    Forecasting
    Maintain customer base that includes hundreds of customers.
    Finding new opportunities and growing sales.
    Manage internal sales team along with manufacturers reps.
    Full profit/loss responsibility.
    Establish pricing to customers.
    Negotiate pricing/supply with suppliers.
    Finding new suppliers/products.
    Full product management
    Purchasing
    Inventory control
    Trade shows and marketing

    Requirements:
    Extensive experience in the Pigment or Chemical industry.
    Experience in the ink, plastic, and coatings industries.
    Profit/loss and product management experience.
    Travel is required (up to 40% of the time).
    Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of UMC products as related to customer needs and requirements.
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to “close” sales.
    An internal drive that strives for success.
